Quick Instructions:

The Impossible Transparency Technique allows you to get creative in various ways. To make your Impossible image transparent:

1. Take a pair of scissors and precisely cut off the outermost edges of your freshly developed image. This works best if the image is no older than 24 hours.

2. Take a hairdryer, carefully and moderately heat the picture (not too close and not too hot!), don't get too close and slowly peel off the transparent positive (upper) sheet with the frame.

Project Description:

I created this work to submit it the Impossible Transparency Exhibition. It's made of Silver Shade Transparencies only, taken with a Polaroid SLR 680 camera, carefully aligned on a mirror and framed behind glass. It's part of an ongoing project of portraits inspired by Fugazi's Ex-Spectator song, and by Guy Debord's book "Society of the Spectacle". The mirrored surface is an invitation for the observer to be part of the "project" themselves. Standing out of things and apathy do not make ourselves irresponsible for how things will end up.
