A-chan is a New York based japanese female photographer. She started her career in 1997 as an assistant to Masafumi Sanai. In 1998 A-chan became a freelancer and published her work in various magazines, CD booklets and advertising as well.
She has also published several books dedicated to photography, such as『pictures』(2002)、写真展「暑い日」(2003)「BAN」(2004)「COUNTRY」(2005)
Since 2006 A-chan lives in New York City. Since 2007 she is working for Robert Frank, a legendary photographer in the US. Currently she is taking care of all the printings of his work.
Books by Robert Frank that have been released under A-chan as a printer are 『SEVEN STIRIES』(2009)『TAL UF TAL AB』(2010)『PANGNIRTUNG』(2011).
The exhibition at the Impossible Project Space Tokyo is A-chan's first solo exhibition. All created artworks have been taken with a SLR 680 camera using PX 70 Color Shade
and PX 600 Silver Shade UV+. All shots are in Manhattan in 2011.
